Five young Glasweigians explore their Scottish identities while weaving techno into wildly nrg-etic (full live band) rave anthems, through the lens of stadium-curious post-punk. Correspondingly, VLURE (pronounced like the velvet-adjacent fabric) are equally at home hosting their own underground Euphoria parties in glasgow, as they are on stage at Glasto. they have been heavily featured in clash, diy, dork, and line of best fit. and nme cites their gigs as, “offering an emotional outlet that you cannot experience anywhere else.”
VLURE mine an area of early 90’s trance oft overlooked by their post Brexit contemporaries. And while their references are relatively obscure in the 2020’s (Utah Saints and Leftfield, amongst) their touch points are largely irrelevant, as the band combine trance and post punk in an utterly unprecedentedly euphoric way. Their much anticipated debut long-player will arrive in 2025.
