Dana Dentata’s 2018 single, TND (Trust No Dick), is somewhat of a thesis statement for her project; a societal line in the sand of sorts. Basically, there are two types of people in this world – people who are going to literally interpret the phrase trust no dick, as universally anti-male, and then there are the rest of us, who are going to hear that phrase, smile to ourselves, and symbolically salute the author’s sagacity. It’s not easy to propose a cure for the complete patriarchy in just three words, but it takes true acumen to make that ACRONYM hilarious.
dana’s equally genius titled debut LP, pantychrist, dropped on Roadrunner in 2021. She was the first female fronted act the Warner subsidiary had ever signed in their thirty year history. Dana landed the cover of legendary UK rock rag, Kerrang, and stadium toured with Korn, Evanescence and Peaches. She played Reading/Leeds and Download festival. Dressed in a clown costume. and To the best of our knowledge, she is the only female rapper, that has played both Rolling Loud and ICP’s The Gathering.
In her early life, Dana has been the face of American Apparel, in an all-girl metal band, a stripper, and a teenage recruit of an epStein backed modeling firm. As an adult, Dana has grown into a riveting avant garde performance artist, a crucial online therapist to her fans (many of whom are also sexual abuse survivors), and an icon of feminist rights.
